So i made some yummy homemade tortillas this week- mmm they were good.
They didn't look super pretty because they were not nice circles. but they were thick and yumm-o!
i found this mix at the store- i think i got it at walmart. it is called quacker Harina Preparada para tortillas- or while flour tortilla mix.

i made some like a week ago and they were small and i didn't know what i was doing- but i had it better this week. i made fewer than they called for and thus got them bigger. i also didn't almost ruin a pan. last time it said they pan was supposed to be so many degrees hot- well i didn't know what that meant- but for some reason i thought it meant pretty hot. so i got the pan hot- a little too HOT! i melted some of my spatula to the pan. I know only i could do that, but it did and no matter how hard i scrubbed with my brillo pad i couldn't get all the black off. so this week bigger balls (of dough) and not so hot pan.
I had found this book at the library before called make-a-mix cookery and it has recipes for different things like to make your own pancake mix etc. and i am thinking it might have had a tortilla mix recipe in that book- need to find out.
and i need one of these- a tortilla press. found this at target

ps i made some crock pot chicken taco meat to go with them-mmmm. found the recipe in a slow cooker recipe book- found it here- it is the first recipe i have tried from it and it is easy and GOOD!
