jammies

So I attempted to make the kids some jammies. I bought some flannel (it took about a yard for the bigger pants size 6-7)and decided that I didn't need no stinking pattern. (hahaha) So I took a pair of mt oldest's jammy pants and made a pattern. Took me awhile to figure out what I was doing though. The seam ripper was my best friend. Especially when I realized I didn't make the waist wide enough. I had to add some little "panels" to the sides just so they pull them on. But they worked out.
I was really surprised how much they actually loved them. They actually wore them to school on pajama day.

Here is a picture of the panel I had to make so they would fit.

So for the tops I just took some hanes tshirts and used some heat and bond and then cut out some pieces of the fabric and put it on the tops. I did sew around the turtles.

did the same with the strawberries

and made cupcake pattern and cut those out, then i did a zig zag stitch around the edge. but i think the straight stitch close to the edge works better. I did a turtle too- but that shirt is lost.

Those are really cute, I need to invest in a sewing machine!
